The scarce trade issue with "Longmans, Green" imprint on title page, and "first edition" to colophon, rather than the later and more common "Junior Literary Guild" issue. Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates by Hungarian illustrator and sketch artist Ferdinand Huszti Horvath. In this work, Morris relays the early welsh legend of 'Mabinogion', tales compiled in Middle Welsh in the 12th and13th centuries, from earlier oral traditions.
